To make sure you and your family remain safe from the possible dangers of gas ensure appliances are checked for safety annually by a CORGI registered installer. CORGI registration is a legal requirement for businesses and self-employed people working on gas fittings or appliances.
If you live in rented accommodation, insist on seeing your landlord's gas safety certificate, which shows that the appliances he owns have been checked for safety by a CORGI registered installer. Your landlord is legally obliged to provide you with written proof of these checks.
